Olympic and Paralympic Caucus Supports Boston Bid for 2024 Summer Olympics

Congressmen Jim Langevin (D-RI), David Reichert (R-WA), Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) and Aaron Schock (R-IL) released the following statement in response to the United States Olympic Committee’s selection of Boston as the bid city for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games:

“As co-chairs of the Congressional Olympic and Paralympic Caucus, we are proud to support Boston in its bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Boston will make an ideal host, and showcases the best that the United States has to offer. As the birthplace of our nation and a world-renowned sports city, the best aspects of the American spirit will be on display for the whole world to see.

“We are certain the IOC will give this bid the full attention it deserves, and we look forward to supporting the USOC in this bid. The Olympic movement is a testament to the power of international competition to unite us in common spirit and a reminder to all that we can achieve our dreams with courage and determination. Our Olympic and Paralympic athletes have worked all their lives for the honor of representing their nation at the highest level, and we look forward to hosting them and the world in Boston in 2024.”
